Notes, a new series on journeys and observations. Told in short form because we’re on the go. Told from the heart because that’s me and that’s you, too.

In Motion from August to September 2017: Notes

Our weaknesses and strengths are part of us, of course. They change through time just as we do and they can be mastered as best we’re able.

Sometimes our strengths are learned talent. Sometimes they are innate. Either way, if we’re smart we tap into these inner gifts.

I’m a romantic, I love yoga, reading, cooking, dancing. I love people and I love getting them to work together for the world’s benefit.

And I’ve another talent that I enjoy exploring: I excel at tapping into intuition.

I used to think it was just a natural feeling. Most of us have those “gut” feelings, or we listen to some internal whisper and make the right call. I enjoy this art.

I used to think everyone could be present in their dreams, too. Many can. I am one of them. I enjoy this focus.

And as much as I often did not make a significant deal of these inner strengths, I’ve found a renewed regard. Oh, I’ve always appreciated listening to my intuition or being able to wake myself from odd dreams. I also appreciate when a situation that I encountered in a dream occurs in life, or when I can “just tell” something will go one way.

I am not the only one with strong intuition and I doubt I am the only one who observes and strengthens it.

There are many who are curious at this focus, too. People have always been fascinated with mystique, mostly because it is not fully understood. We are not fully aware of science behind it, nor do we as a collective value individuality behind these mystiques. So it’s interesting to others when time and energy is dedicated to this effort.

That’s okay. Be curious, even with me.

We can study, reason and throw as much literature behind these phenomena. We can study, reason and throw as much literature behind anything we’re passionate about or harness as strengths. But sometimes it just is. Sometimes instinctive aspects of our individual selves just are.

Most people take a few of their natural arts to the edge now and then — spending extra time and weirdness on these gifts.

Letting their full inner dance come out on the floor.

Good. I love original and individual expression. Accept it, have fun with it, explore it, strengthen it.

I hope when I’m at the dance club, I’ll get to see you out on the floor in your various moves. I’ve already seen some of you, and I love it. The awkwardness, the flailing, the change up in beats and steps as you explore your gifts.

And please, look on my outlandish, quirky behavior without too much reservation. I don’t mind.

Sure, it is natural to keep some parts of our enthusiasm to ourselves from time to time. We can’t change parts of our personality, either — I relish a few quiet seclusions within my life.

Major strengths shouldn’t remain a complete secret, however.

So whether you choose to stand at the wall and watch me work it, or whether you come grab my hand on the floor…..let’s appreciate the other’s ability to remove some privacy, to explore, to dance. Let’s intertwine.

I have strong intuition.

I’ve been able to tap into sensory and dreams and I have learned to love it.

There are parts of me which will always remain private. That’s who I am. And that’s okay, because if you’re curious enough you’ll come to me and work into it anyway.

If you’re going to come take my hand on the dance floor, though, you’ll probably do it just as one song ends and a slow dance starts.

Something just tells me that’ll be the way it works out with us.

And something just tells me it’ll work out right.
